Mobile Banking allows anyone with an online banking account to access information from a mobile phone. Mobile Banking offers three ways to access your accounts:
1. Send a text message
2. Use a mobile browser on your phone
3. Download an application to your phone
You can choose any or all of these options, depending on the capabilities of your mobile phone.
To ensure the safety and privacy of your account information, we provide some key security features in Mobiliti.
Unique Activation Code – We send you a unique activation code to verify your phone number. This code associates your mobile phone with your account. This verification also lets you know your mobile phone number has been successfully registered in our system.
Authentication – You are authenticated for every transaction with Mobile Banking
Encryption – We use 128-bit encryption for all transactions.
No Identifiable Information – We don’t return any personal identifiable information in a text message, such as your full account number, e-mail address, or personal address. We do not ask for or include your User ID or password in any messages we send.
You can register for Mobiliti through your online banking service. Be sure to turn on your mobile phone and make sure it’s ready to receive text message. When you register for Mobiliti you can choose which services you want to use as well as accounts you want to access.
During registration, we will send you a text message with a unique activation code to verify your phone number. This code associates your mobile phone with your account. To complete registration, enter the activation code that we send you. This verification lets you know your mobile phone number has been successfully registered in our system.
We don’t charge fees to access or use Mobiliti. You should contact your mobile service carrier for information about fees associated with sending or receiving text messages or accessing the Internet from your mobile device as message and data rates may apply.
When you view your account balance, you see the current available balance. When you view transaction history, you see the most recently posted transaction. We do not show any pending transactions.
You can access any accounts you’ve set up in Abington Bank's Online Banking. When you register for Mobiliti, you can choose which accounts you want to access on your mobile device.
If your mobile phone is lost or stolen, no one can access your account without knowing your password, and, in some cases, your unique user name. Your device should be set to not to remember passwords. To prevent unauthorized access to your account, you can deactivate your phone in Mobiliti. Go to ABINGTON BANK’S Online Banking and access the Mobile banking pages. On the My Phones page, find the phone number and select the option to STOP USING THIS PHONE FOR MOBILE BANKING. Also, remote wipe or locking apps such as Find My iPhone and Find My Droid can be used to remotely locate or wipe your device. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account contact the Bank immediately.
Virtually any cell phone can use the SMS service, even many prepaid cell phones. As long as the phone is capable of sending and receiving SMS text messages (and the service plan supports text messaging), account balances and transaction histories are available. Message and data rates may apply.
Phones with internet access and a browser that supports XHTMLpages can use Mobile browser services. Mobile Browser is the most common means of accessing accounts from a mobile phone. Using mobile browser services requires no phone based software beyond a compatible web browser.
Users of smart phones (such as Apple iPhones® or Android phones) also have the option of downloading a full feature APP (application) that takes advantage of the enhanced features found in the device.
You can disable your mobile banking account, or individual phone, through your ABINGTON BANK’S Retail Online banking account. Simply go to online banking and access the Mobile Banking pages. On the My Phones page, find the phone number and select the option to STOP USING THIS PHONE FOR MOBILE BANKING.
There are several ways you can help protect your information:
1. Install an Anti-Virus (AVS) program on your smartphone.
2. Download Apps from trusted and approved App stores endorsed by your service provider or technology provider, such as such as Apple iPhones® or Android phones.
3. Avoid Jailbreaking ("self-hacking") your smartphone to gain full access to all of the features of the phone which can leave your phone susceptible to malware, viruses, and other malicious programs.
4. Turn off your Bluetooth when you are doing banking transactions.
